I was recently sharing about our service with a group who visited our Resource Center. One question prompted me to share about some of the “little things” we offer our guests, which most would not be aware of. So, in addition to the “big things” like food, clothing, showers and laundry, here are some of the “little things” we also provide.
- Electricity and charging stations
- Basic first aid supplies
- Tools (bikes and skateboards always need attention!)
- A mailing address
- A napping room, pillows and blankets
- Pet food and some supplies
- Art projects
- Board Games
- A small library of books
- Snack bags on Thursdays
- Headphones (no amplified sound is allowed)
- Batteries
- A shoe/boot dryer
- Coffee, water and tea are always available
- Lockers
- Duct tape
- A movie is always on
- Computer access and printer
- Bus passes
- Stamps & envelopes
- Gift and gas cards;
- Locks for bikes while on the premises
- Lots of information from other agencies.
We love doing whatever we can in serving, loving and caring for our young homeless community. Thank you to the many of you who partner with us in this very important work!
