Helping youth in Lane County create and sustain healthy lives away from the streets is a big mission. This is the mission we believe God has for Hosea and that we will follow. As a team at Hosea we do not know if we will ever fully eradicate youth homelessness but we must walk with the effort that we will. This mission is why we seek to greet every youth that comes through our door, why we make the effort to know them by name and meet them where they are at, and this is why we strive to make the gospel known in everything we do.

My heart was humbled to catch a little glimpse of the community God has led to Hosea as our team worked with a Small Group from Harrisburg Christian Church to deep clean the Drop-in Center. My heart was so encouraged as I watched this group clean with much eagerness to touch the lives of the youth who would walk in on Monday to see the Drop-in Center with a new sparkle and shine. This group was filled with life that only comes from Christ and for that I am so thankful.

As I drove home that afternoon I began to think about the many people who make Hosea possible. I began thinking about volunteers, mentors, meal groups, interns, board members, and the people who have donated their time and money to make our programs a reality. God has blessed Hosea immensely with a community that cares about fighting for these youth and I believe He will continue to unify people to carry out His mission. We may never see the day when youth homelessness in Lane County ends but we will walk in faith, trusting that God knows and He has the youth we so deeply care about in His Mighty hands. We will walk in faith always because these youth deserve our very best.

Thank you for loving the youth at Hosea and thank you for your boldness to join our team as we seek to help youth create and sustain healthy lives away from the streets. We cannot accomplish this mission without you!

In Christ,

Angela
