I started going down to the Hosea Drop-In Center because I was going through some hard times around the fall of 2014. I met some amazing staff and volunteers there, and I was offered so much support, especially when I found out was expecting.

Within a few short months I was already wanting to better myself, walk with God and learn how to be a good mom. During my pregnancy, I was asked if I’d like to start working at Imagination International. It allows four youth members to work in their warehouse for approximately three hours, twice a week. This was a prayer answered since I needed the extra money.

A few months after starting Imagination with Karri who was taking us at the time, we were introduced to Christina who had just started running Hosea’s thrift store. Christina took over bringing us. She has been bringing us for about a year now and I recently have been given the opportunity to work at the thrift store. I also volunteer at the drop-in whenever I can. I really like working, it helps manage my time and I’m learning good customer service skills.

I am so grateful to God for my life today. I work with amazing people and I feel more responsible for my life and my son.
