Programs
The Center:

Open 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Monday, Wednesday, Friday (and some Saturdays):

The drop-in center offers a place to rest, play pool, access resources, services and facilities. The Qualified staff and trained volunteers are committed to:

  • Providing healthy and nutritious meals at dinner time four days a week
  • Responding to urgent and immediate needs such as transport, personal hygiene and care items, showers and laundry facilities as well as communication with family or significant human resource
  • Offering accepting trusting relationships as a context in which to communicate available resources, opportunities and hope.
  • Facilitating youth’s access to other services including case management, shelter, and healthcare
Youth Net:
 

Hosea staff and volunteers research and maintain current information and contact with other agencies and human services to assist in the most helpful referral process. Youth Net operates out of the Center M-W-F, at the Shelter daily and in Outreach contacts as well as in Follow up Visitation.

Youth Net assists in finding or providing:

  • Temp work
  • Educational and vocational guidance
  • Local resources directories and information
  • Case management if desired
  • Housing options
  • Faith based resources and opportunities
  • Medical and Psychological resources
No More Rainy Nights:
 

Hosea has provided housing in a variety of venues. Our first priority is to coordinate temporary free housing for homeless young people to get them off the streets and in out of the weather particularly during the inclement weather seasons.

  • Emergency Women’s Shelter Every night from September to June
  • Referral to other housing opportunities
  • Guys shelter as volunteer staff and facility is available
Life Skills:
 

There are several groups and individuals (mentors) who are willing to help staff and volunteers in the goal of providing:

  • Vocational training and experience
  • Temporary work opportunities
  • Job Preparedness skills such as developing a resume and role playing job interviews
  • Specialized training such as the Hosea Glass Guild
  • Occasional outdoor activities and events such as camping, hiking, horse riding, etc.

Monday night from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m
(at the drop in center)

Hosea provides opportunity for voluntary:

  • Worship
  • Discipleship, and,
  • Discussion
