Throughout the last 2 weeks we have welcomed 6 girls into the Youth House! I am so thrilled to have a group of giggling and enthusiastic ladies in the home. Our team at Hosea is beyond thrilled.

On Sunday afternoon, the girls and house staff joined together for our very first house meeting. Megan, the House Manager, opened with a question asking, “do you know why this house is so important?” One of the girls asked, “is it because it’s the first house in the state?” Megan then responded with, “because it’s the first house in the nation.” At that moment I was
like” woah, I have heard this statement before but this is the first time it really sank in my mind.” I am so humbled that I get to play a role in this project. I am even more blessed that I get to walk with the first group of girls as they navigate this beautiful yet crazy life.

These young women have a community of people who are eager to support them as
they seek to achieve their goals and pursue independent lifestyles. Whether you have prayed, volunteered your time, or donated supplies/finances, you are making a difference in the lives of these young women. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts because Hosea Youth Services could not achieve our mission without you!

I pray that these girls will know just how loved they are and that maybe, just maybe, they might get a glimpse of how much their Heavenly Father loves them. While God has provided many amazing people to help support the girls in the Youth Home, He is ultimately the one that will restore the brokenness that lies in their hearts. God can put the broken pieces that we cannot fix back together. He is the answer.

“So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” -Isaiah 41:10-

As much as we may want to, we cannot heal the pain that has followed these girls throughout their lives. God sure can and the comfort that He provides is so much better. While people cannot bring healing to these girls’ lives, I believe that God is using this community in big ways to further His Kingdom.

What a blessing that we get to play a part in this lovely yet crazy adventure!

In Christ,
Angela
